Aakriti Foundation Nepal (AFN) is a educational Non-Profit Organization (NPO) and NonGovernmental Organization (NGO) working with theme vision to transform nation through quality education. Initially, team of AFN researched about the problems created by lack of quality education in Nepalese public schools and found out that this is one of the leading reason behind Nepal’s sluggish development and overall poverty. Quality education is a prerequisite for opportunity & employment. Its importance is reiterated by the fact that lack of education has resulted in 25.2 % of the population living under poverty line.
While the rest of the world is rapidly advancing with new technology based innovations, millions of people in rural communities of Nepal still struggle to make ends meet with minimum resources. Many children are denied the opportunity to a better future because of the lack of quality education and a conducive learning environment. So, enhancing the quality of education in villages is the key to rural development and creating employment opportunities for rural youth. However, we found that students in several rural areas of Nepal don’t get the kind of education that’s delivered in urban schools due to which number of students attending public/government schools are decreasing every year.
