Enhancing the quality of education in villages is the key to rural development and creating employment opportunities for rural youth. However, we found that students in Khari village of Dhading district don’t get the kind of education that’s delivered in urban schools. Therefore, to combat this problem, Project Educate Nepal (PEN) was launched. This project seeks to enhance students’ practical knowledge in 3 key subjects deemed essential today - Science, Computer and English. In the initial phase, PEN aims to provide much needed computers and materials for science experiments in 4 schools of Khari and they are as below:
1. Shree Tripura Sundari Higher Secondary School
2. Sami Bhangyang Higher Secondary School
3. Shree Baladevi Secondary School
4. Barahkalika Higher Secondary School
5. Chainpur Higher Secondary School
These schools were chosen because they currently lack materials that the study-curriculum demands. In addition, we will also deploy volunteers who will impart curriculum based practical classes to students and organize training sessions for teachers in above stated three subject areas.
